maybe next time

I AM really upset today because Air Supply will be playing tonight in Araneta Coliseum but I cannot come.

Actually, I almost forgot about it. I tried burying it in my unconscious two days ago, accepting the fact that it would be impossible for me to go to the concert and sway my hands as Hitchcock and Russell sing Here I am, playing with those memories again…

Anyway,

But my dad unintentionally EXCAVATED my unconscious when he turned on the player and put on his PIRATED DVD – the live concert of air supply somewhere in keberkeber. (My dad’s fond of watching concerts in pirated dvds, but thanks to those, I got acquainted with the bee gees, Chicago and some old men whose stage names I forgot.) The feeling of disappointment ravaged into my brain anew, and once again, the wound that has been closed was ripped open, exposing blood and flesh of dismay.

“Dad, I am going.”

“NO.”

“I want to go.”

(iling iling)

And my fantasy ended.

Two weeks ago, I was so excited and my friends would tease me and say, “mukha ka ng air supply”. I could not contain my fascination and I really anticipated this day, and I tried to drag my friends (and non friends) to come with me. But they would say, “mas manunuod pa ko kay katy perry”. (Katy perry’s concert was cancelled anyway).

The prices of the tickets were quite reasonable and I was able to convince Zoeh and Xana to come with me. But for some vague reasons, I could not come. I COULD NOT COME (sobbed).

Once, Miley asked me why would I want to watch such a classic, I simply said, “Gusto ko lang sila mapanood bago sila mamatay.” I really wanted to. They have these amazing voices and they sing beautiful lyrics. I just wanted to be a part of their (whatever), and be able to watch them and listen to them (LIVE at the araneta coliseum).

Maybe next time.

Goodbye Air Supply.
